Celebrating National Intern Day
As we celebrate National Intern Day, we are proud to shine a spotlight on our thriving co-op program, a cornerstone of our commitment to nurturing talent and innovation. More than just internships, we believe in integrating interns into our teams, where they bring fresh perspectives and drive forward-thinking solutions.
Leading the charge is our Director of Product & Research Development, Jon Hauberg, whose dedication to our internship program stems from his own enriching co-op experiences.
“I’ve seen firsthand the transformative impact of internships,” Jon reflects. “It’s about more than learning; it’s about empowering future leaders and innovators.”
This year, we are delighted to introduce six exceptional interns who have made significant contributions across various departments:
- Evan attends Miami University majoring in marketing with double minors in sports management and management. As our marketing intern, he has been instrumental in customer segmentation, enhancing our company culture, and supporting recruitment efforts. A fun fact about Evan is that he has visited all 50 state capitals.
- Nicholas is studying chemical engineering at the University of Cincinnati. At Deceuninck, he is focused on refining our safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and improving waste management. Outside of work, Nicholas enjoys the companionship of his 15-year-old cat named Kitty and a lively five-month-old black lab puppy named Umbra, adding joy and energy to his daily life.
- Austin is currently pursuing his mechanical engineering technology degree at the University of Cincinnati. He is driving innovation in window frame design. In his spare time, he is learning to play guitar and enjoys getting in 18 holes on the golf course.
- Cliff is pursuing his second bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Cincinnati, having previously studied environmental science at Duke University. He is focused on examining containment levels in fractured regrind and supporting cost reduction strategies. An avid runner, Cliff has completed seven marathons.
- Josh, studying mechanical engineering technology, is pivotal in our Factory of the Future initiative, streamlining production processes, and contributing to the future layout of our extrusion operations. Outside of work, he enjoys playing both indoor and outdoor volleyball.
- Nathan is our finance intern, currently pursuing a Master of Accountancy and a CPA license at the University of Alabama. He plays a vital role within our finance team, focusing on accounts payable, cash forecasting, closing processes, and general ledger accounting. Originally from Cleveland, Nathan is a die-hard Cleveland sports fan.
Each intern embodies our core values of trust, top performance, and entrepreneurship. Their dedication and fresh perspectives enrich our workplace, driving us towards continued success and growth.
On this National Intern Day, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our interns for their hard work and enthusiasm. Together, we are building a community where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and success is shared.
